A Sydney backyard
A small closed loop: hens, worms, beds, and a kitchen that tries not to waste.
Kitchen scraps and garden trimmings go to the worm bins first. The worms turn them into castings we call black gold — dark, sweet-smelling soil that goes straight back into the beds. We also raise extra colonies so you can start a bin at home.
The hens eat what the worms cannot, scratch the paths, and give us eggs. Their manure is composted before it ever touches a salad bed. Nothing from the flock is treated as rubbish.
Seed, soil, and surplus all stay in this backyard unless a neighbour collects them. We do not ship produce. Pickup is in Sydney, during Saturday and Sunday, 9am–12pm.
